Title: How to activate IP-bus for just a line-in?
Post by: JasonDMX2 on 19 Jul 2007, 02:36
I have a Pioneer head unit that does not have an "aux" mode so I have to play my line in through the "M-CD" mode. I have made my +right and +left connection along with a common ground, but I get no sound on "M-CD" so I figure I have to trick the head unit into thinking there is a CD changer connected in order to get the head unit to accept the line-in signal.

Is there any simple mod to do this or must I use an emulator?

I think I saw something about turning on aux input (if you have one) on Pioneer unit without emulator, but I'm not sure. But definitely you cannot do that in CD-changer mode, because your unit knows nothing about CD-changer without emulator or real CD-changer and leaves audio input disabled. IMHO.

Can someone make sure my modified circuit is correct?

Can I just use a 5v regulator to power this or must I use the special power supply?

I'm not an expert in this, but I think it won't work.
