Title: Can't get started building this device Post by: Matthijs on 20 Oct 2005, 00:17 Hello,
I'm new on this forum. I got here becouse I wan'to start a new project. In my last car I had a computer based MP3 player (matrix display, ms-dos) installed, but I don't wan'to tear my whole car down again. I got hand on a very nice Pioneer Dex-P99r. And I still know the Yampp from earlier interests, so I got here. I'm finding very much usefull information on this site/forum, but I really, really can't get things startet. In a thread (on page 4) you told someone that you have PCB-diagrams ready in a weak in november 2004. So I asume that the're ready now? I also can't find a walktrough (if excists) of how to build this beautifull device. Or a list of parts needed. Maybe it's becouse I only can read the English part of the topics? I'm from Holland. Could you please kick my a little in the right direction? I also can't find a walktrough (if excists) of how to build this beautifull device. You can find the schematic on site. You can't find "step by step" instruction or list of parts becouse this project was building for advanced users in electronics and all emulators was maked as sample.Or a list of parts needed. Maybe it's becouse I only can read the English part of the topics? I'm from Holland. Could you please kick my a little in the right direction? For making worked device you must have: - HDD based yampp (Yampp3 or Yampp3/USB). Remember - USB future not ready for source worked with emulator. - HDD 2,5" - emulator (you can find sch on site). - power source (any power source with output power 5V/1A). My sample you can find on site too. - Pioneer IP-Bus cable. - any case for this. Title: Re: Can't get started building this device Post by: Matthijs on 02 Nov 2005, 16:57 Thank you for the reply!

How did you build your emulator without a pcb scheme? Title: Re: Can't get started building this device Post by: Matthijs on 02 Nov 2005, 17:00 Maybe it's better for me to build it on protoboard.
I don't have the knowlege to design a PCB myself. I only am afraid that this could become a very large device than. Title: Re: Can't get started building this device Post by: Maddog_rvo on 02 Nov 2005, 21:11 Hehe, heck no, only 3.8cm by 5.5cm (measured it 8))
It`s a relatively easy to build device, try Yampp on experiment board, that becomes 15 by 10 or something (doing that one right now ) And i`ve been smart enough to order a 74HCT373 instead of a 74HC573 (number doesnt even matter, only different pinout. Only the T makes a big difference, it makes it a TTL device instead of CMOS) Title: Re: Can't get started building this device Post by: Matthijs on 22 Nov 2005, 23:59 Allright! so that shouldn't be a problem!
I understand you allready built it! I allmost don't dare to ask you this question, but do you have a list of where you bought the (specific) parts? (I hope that sentence contains proper English) So i do'nt have to invent the wheel for the second time? I allready have a changer with a cable. The laser is done, but that shouldn't be a problem :) Title: Re: Can't get started building this device Post by: Matthijs on 23 Nov 2005, 00:00 Do you also have a photo online, so that I can take over your layout?
Title: Re: Can't get started building this device Post by: Matthijs on 10 May 2006, 23:31 It's half a year later now, and I still didn't forget this device.
Is there somebody who actually is willing to share something to get started with? A partslist, a PCB, even a photograph of the board would help me to get things started. |
