Title: Schematic questions, also one about the firmware
Post by: danrulz12 on 13 Oct 2006, 14:22
Hello, i have a few questions about the schematics.
1. What is the value of C1, measured in uf? i don't understand the 'm' :? (is it supposed to be mf, i understand that) also does C1 have to be polarized (i assume thats why the symbol is different on the schematic).
On the power supply schematic i have afew more questions.
2. What is the value of C7(doesn't have a unit)?
3. Am I correct in saying that the value of R9 0.22 ohms(it just seems like a strange value, but then im not very experienced :) )?
4. Could you reccomend parts from Digikey ( www.http://www.digikey.com/ ) to fill the spaces of T1, L1, D1. This is the only place i can order parts from, as there is not alot available in my country (Australia).
5. Do you have board layouts for the emulator and power supply?
Now the firmware question :)
6. What version of yammp's firmware did you modify and will your modified version work with the prebuilt yammp-3/usb ( http://www.jelu.se/shop/product_info.php?cPath=1_21_24_25&products_id=28 )

Sorry for all the questions but i am eager to start building this

What schematic you mean?
3. Yes. R9 - 0.22 Ohms.
4. You need to made T1 yourself.
5. No.
6. I don't remember... Firmware work with yampp3/usb but in FAT32 mode without usb.

Sorry, i should have been more specific. I want to know C1 from the emulator schematic, and C7 from the power supply schematic. Also i'm afraid i don't know what L1 from the power supply is, im not very experienced. Is it apart of the transformer? Thankyou for your previous responses.

C1 - 47 microFarad electrolitic capacitor
C7 - 0.01 microFarad - 10 nanoFarad capacitor
L1 - any regular inductor

Would it be possible to use this power supply ( http://www.powerstream.com/dc6.htm ) or this one ( http://www.powerstream.com/dda.htm )and adapt it to have and on/off input? If i could adapt how would i do it? Is it necessery, could i just connect it to a switched 12v source thats controlled by the vehicle key? Thankyou for all your help so far

Maybe. I don't know how you can adapt on/off input.
