I would like to use my none IP_bus radio, M7400RDS, but I have no service manual. It's a little bit hard to find any data signal to interface on but I guess it is there somewhere. If a newer RDS radio is easier to interface that could be a solution to. Hope for help. Thanks.. Title: RDS Readout to PC? I need a PC-decoder to read RDS information. I hoped that it would be possible to do without expensive "kits". I mean to do this with a microcontroller PIC which just transfrers the information from a radio (with RDS) and transforms it into a asyncronos serial interface. The only problem is that I do not write software for PC yet, only firmware for microcontrollers... If you have any idea, write it down...I'll try to think of something :D

I have no problems with writing PC software. If I could get the RDS information on a serial interface, then most of my problems is solved. How should I proceed to make a "RDS to Serial" interface? I havn't found any circuit in this that could be the RDS IC. I guess that I have to look after another radio to use that has one of the 2 IC's that you posted. Title: RDS Readout to PC? Title: RDS Readout to PC? Post by: Predator_MF on 13 Jul 2004, 13:21 Well, I gave you some links, I think that the last one contained a schematic digram...you connect the RDS decoder to the MPX signal (this is the output of the FM demodulator, which means between the Tuner and the Stereo-decoder).
