I could understand the IP-BUS work with CAN interface, and the ATMega acts like a CAN controller to receive and send data do HU. The CAN interface chip just format the data to CAN bus.
So... can we use a CAN controller chip with ATMega? Can this make things easier, because we donґt have to worry about the CAN timming? Question

CAN protocol and timings are different with IP-Bus protocol and timings. So you can't use CAN controller.
