why is the RXD of the PCA82c250 not connected? but are you using a comparator for the rxd function ?
is the chip not fully compatible with the IP protocol?

PCA82c250 - is a CAN bus driver. But compatible with IP bus for transmitting.

isn't there any fancy solution, perhaps someone opened a cd-changer to see which chip is inside there. this is a kind of work around....

Original chip is HITACHI HA12178.
I can't find it anywhere.

A long time ago I saw a snapshot of a schematic of a pioneer radio with IP-bus connection. I found this schematic somewhere in the yahoo groups ( http://groups.yahoo.com/group/ipbus ). Pioneer uses an IP-bus driver with type number CA0008AN.
