A friend of mine told me that he had (at a previous time) a connector for his BECKER Car-audio that at which can connect KENWOOD CD-changer. I tried to find the controlling protocol of BECKER CD-changer, but useless. Anyone could help me with some information about this protocol?
So I just found out that there is a whole RDS board in VW GAMMA-3, also there is ready to use RDS PCBs at conrad.de (.com). Just if you could find any RDS board I'll tell you how to connect it to a radio and PC . I have VW GAMMA-3 here, but unfortunately you are very far awa from here
Can you guys light me up a little, I do not understand what you call a DAB unit. One of my customers was looking for a DAB, but he didn't know what exactly was DAB.
There are a lot of people that want me build an Universal CD-changer controller (a board that could make possible connection between any CD-changer and any Car-Radio that has a controller for CD-changer). I have expirience with PIC controllers, so it won't be that hard, except I do not have enough info for the interfaces that are used in some radios... Can somebody help me a bit, if I build it it will be opened source and I'll give it free!
Well, I gave you some links, I think that the last one contained a schematic digram...you connect the RDS decoder to the MPX signal (this is the output of the FM demodulator, which means between the Tuner and the Stereo-decoder).
Well, they all use TDA7330 (which is a RDS decoder) but I am trying to understand what interface is used for decoding the two output lines of the decoder (RCL and RDATA), maybe its I2C...
Well, I haven't done anything like this before but sure it won't be very hard to do... What do you mean 'expensive "kits"'? I mean to do this with a microcontroller PIC which just transfrers the information from a radio (with RDS) and transforms it into a asyncronos serial interface. The only problem is that I do not write software for PC yet, only firmware for microcontrollers... If you have any idea, write it down...I'll try to think of something
